HAPPY THANKSGIVING AT THE DEBARY INN

In Summit, NJ, Thanksgiving is celebrated with a blend of cherished traditions and community spirit.  A few noteable Thanksgiving customs include:

-Alumni Turkey Bowl Football Game: Once a Hilltopper, always a Hilltopper!  Every year about 30 + alumni from as far back as 1981 gather at Tatlock Field for the Annual Summit Turkey Bowl, a friendly, two-hand touch football game.  The camaraderie and passion for Hilltopper football make this event special.

-Shop Small Business Saturday, Nov 25th.  Skip the mall and shop small!  Avoid the craze of Black Friday and start your holiday shopping by supporting local small businesses this Saturday.  Many businesses will feature special offers and merchandise for the day.

-Carriages and Carolers, on Saturdays thru Dec 23rd.  Take a break from your downtown shopping to enjoy holiday music and free horse and carriage rides from 1-4pm each Saturday until Dec 23rd. Boarding is located at Lyric Park, located at the corner of Bank St and Beechwood RD. Rides run until 4 pm but line cut-off at 3:30 pm.

- Explore Nearby Big Cities: Take advantage of Summit's proximity to two world class cities- New York and Philadelphia. Consider a day trip or an overnight adventure. In NYC, visit iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building, Central Park Zoo, or explore unique attractions like Little Island or the Museum of Ice Cream. Alternatively, explore the historical sights and museums in Philadelphia, including Independence Hall and The Franklin Institute.
