Summit Sunday Farmers Market: A DeBary Inn Fall Staple
Every Sunday from April to December, the parking lot at the corner of DeForest and Woodland avenue transforms into a farmers market dream. Widely regarded as one of the best farmers markets in the state, come rain or shine dozens of vendors set up to sell everything from homemade dog treats to artisan roasted coffee beans. With harvest season in full swing, the produce stands are shining with colors.
If you happen to be staying at The DeBary Inn over a Sunday, a quick seven minute walk through downtown Summit will get you to the entrance of the market. Open from 8am to 1pm, a leisurely stroll through the vendor tents is a great way to spend an hour. There are many food options available if you are looking for a picnic lunch or just a sweet treat to wander town with. The Summit Sunday Farmers Market is also a great place to pick up local goods as souvenirs or gifts for the people back home.
During this time of year, the market is bursting with all things apple. Pies, butters, donuts, and ciders for a few different orchards in the area are all available for purchase. I highly recommend trying the flavored cider from Phillips Farms (the Blueberry Lavender is my personal favorite).
Fall in New England isn’t complete without a trip to the local farmers market and you couldn’t do better than the one in Summit. To find out more information about farmers market events and vendors visit the Summit Farmers Market website page.
